Director / Contracts Manager
|
With nearly six years of experience in rock anchoring and ten years in construction overall, including a 4-year stint with what is now the Laing O’Rourke Group in the UK, Barry is one of the leading engineers & contract managers in the rock anchoring field.
Barry’s first taste of construction was as during the industrial-placement year in his “sandwich degree” with O’ Rourke Civil Engineering in 1997 where he served as a site engineer on a number of projects under O’Rourke’s framework agreement with the British Airports Authority, including Gatwick Airport, the World Business Centre at Heathrow and the Heathrow Terminal 3 extension.
After graduating with upper second class honours in Civil Engineering, Barry returned to the O’Rourke Group and worked for their specialist building package arm Dove Brothers. Initially working as a site engineer, Barry worked on the prestigious Church / Courtyard House project in Knightsbridge, London – a stone’s throw from Harrods department store. Over time, he was given more responsibility and managed a small element of this project – the Church redevelopment and restoration – for a time before being called onto the Royal Ballet School redevelopment in Covent Garden, London to serve as Project Engineer.
Barry moved to Australia in 2002 – initially on a working holiday visa - and, after a short stay in Perth, moved to Brisbane and joined StrongForce as a site engineer, where he was quickly offered sponsorship. Moving swiftly through the ranks, Barry eventually took over the estimating and contract management from the legendary Gary Wardell and ran the Rock Anchor division alongside Jeff Sanford, leading the division to a record turnover in 05/06.
Barry left StrongForce in July 2006 to form TEAM Rock Anchors with Jeff Sanford and serves as the company’s Contracts Manager and Director. Barry is also the company’s BSA Licence nominee-supervisor, under the license class of Foundation Work (Piling & Anchors).

Director / Construction Manager

Jeff became the rock anchor supervisor in mid-2004 and, alongside Barry Jones, led the division to greatly improved performance and increased turnover.
Jeff left SF in July 2006 to form TEAM Rock Anchors with Barry Jones and serves as both a director and the company’s Construction Manager.
Jeff grew up on a wheat farm in rural Victoria and strived for a career as a cabinet maker, becoming qualified and starting his own business. Deciding on a change of tack, Jeff and his family moved to Queensland and started work with Conforce – later to become StrongForce - as a general operative. From there he moved on to become a site supervisor and worked on rock anchor & post-tensioning projects all over Australia and also South East Asia, including Changi Naval Base Singapore, Coca Cola Factory Philippines, Penang International Airport Malaysia, Star City Malaysia.

Industrial Relations Manager TEAM Group / Director – TEAM Post Tensioning
|
Mark knows the Australian post-tensioning market inside out having worked in it for over 20 years and his range and diversity of experience in the industry is near second-to-none.
Working for the many different incarnations that finally settled as StrongForce, Mark – a qualified boilermaker - served with distinction for over two decades, moving through the ranks from on-site operative to project supervisor where he worked on a vast array of projects, including some major construction works in the United Kingdom whilst Mark was on "loan" to StrongForce U.K.: then part of what is now known as the Laing O'Rourke Group.
Back in Australia, he moved off of site and into the head office where he took on the combined role of quality assurance manager and procurement officer and made it his own. Eventually, Mark was appointed as Queensland State Manager for StrongForce, in recognition of his sterling and loyal service over the previous decade. Mark oversaw a significant overhaul in construction attitude and service, recognising ability and granting greater authority and responsibility to key personnel. This policy allowed the Rock Anchor division to grow and streamline, amongst other things.
Mark became the face of StrongForce's construction and contracts aspect and was the driving force behind the swift and successful completion of a number of high-rise Post-Tensioning projects. Mark also strived to provide clients with efficient Design & Construct Post Tensioning solutions on projects where conventional concrete and reinforcement structures had been designated, saving thousands of dollars and a great deal of unecessary construction time.
Mark left in July 2006 to head up TEAM Post Tensioning along with Tess Bignell, where he serves as a director and Construction / Contracts Manager as well as the Industrial Relations representative for the entire TEAM group of companies.

She too moved on in July 2006 to form TEAM Post Tensioning and now serves as a director of that company in addition to her role as the Business Manager for the TEAM Group where she has brought her significant financial prowess and Construction Industry business expertise to expedite the swift and smooth growth of the TEAM Group into a substantial fighting force in South East Queensland.

Clint Sanford B Jus (Hons)

Projects Manager
|
Clint qualified from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Justice (Hons.), specialising in Australia’s Strategic Intelligence infrastructure post September 11, 2001. Following his studies, Clint began his career working in Canberra as an Assistant Manager to the On-Line Geospatial Database Management group of the Department of Defence, in which he worked on major projects such as the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and various Defence-led military operations, including Talisman Sabre, Astute, Catalyst and Slipper.
Deciding that a change of scenery was necessary, Clint upped and moved to Queensland to join his father at TEAM Rock Anchors. Working alongside Barry Jones in the contracts department, Clint made the role of Projects Manager his own and rapidly developed a sound understanding of the operations and workings of both the company and the construction industry.
Aided by his previous legal experience and education, Clint is now well versed in handling major Infrastructure projects from take-off and tender stage through contracts, administration and quality assurance to final claims and as-built records and can count the North South Bypass Tunnel and South West Transport Corridor (Centenary Highway Extension) amongst the major projects he has handled.
